Welcome to the 2017 RC Laser National Championship site. This year will mark the 5th National Championship regatta of the AMYA RC Laser Class.
Being held May 19th–21st at Pocono Pines, PA., John Whipple along with RC Laser Class secretary Nick Mortgu, worked along with members of the Lake Naomi Club RC Laser fleet to host this championship.
Jim Kaighin of Marsh Harbour, Bahamas won the 2016 National Championship in Virginia Beach, VA followed by 2nd place finisher Danny Thomas, and Dave Brawner in third.
Who will be the winner of this year’s regatta? You have to compete to win. Enter early!
The regatta will be governed by the “rules” as defined in the Rules of Sailing, as modified by Appendix E, Notice of Race and sailing instructions, and the AMYA RC Laser Class Rules.
The regatta is open to all boats recorded with the AMYA RC Laser Class and members of the AMYA or current card carrying members of a foreign RC sailing organization. Discounted AMYA memberships will be available to new members. Membership includes a subscription to Model Yachting Magazine.
Regatta will be limited to 30 boats. Eligible boats and skippers may be entered by completing online registration Entry Form and submitting it prior to May 7th, 2017 with an entry fee of $65. Entry fee includes coffee and light fare, lunch Saturday and Sunday, Trophies for Gold and Silver Fleets (with registration over 20 boats), other individual awards, and sailor’s gift.
