2015 Tilghman Trifecta

Welcome to the 2015 Tilghman Trifecta. Yes, this is three regattas in three classes of RC yachts: The RC Laser Regatta, The EC12 Regatta and the STAR 45 National Championship Regatta all held at the Tilghman On Chesapeake YC and Marina in Tilghman, MD.

• The RC Laser Regatta is one day, Wednesday, September 9th.
• The EC12 Regatta is part of the Colonial Cup Series and will be Thursday and Friday, September 10th -11th.
• The STAR 45 NCR is Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th.

Make your trip to one of the great locations on the Eastern Shore. Coastal Living refers to Talbot County as “the Hamptons of the Chesapeake Bay.” Come and sail all three regattas or come and take a break from one and serve on the RC. We could always use the help and I hope to sail all three myself so if you want to punch the countdown timer, call the line, write down finishers, keep the cooler full of iced drinks, step up and we’ll put you to work. I’ll buy you lunch.

Tilghman Island (www.TilghmanIsland.com) is located about 23 miles south west of Easton, MD and 15 minutes from St. Michaels, MD. Our community of Tilghman On Chesapeake has a comfortable yacht club and marina with male and female shower facilities, a pool and plenty of parking. Bring the family! LOCATION: Tilghman On Chesapeake Yacht Club and Marina, 21610 Island Club Road, Tilghman, MD 21671

RULES: The racing will be governed by the 2013-16 Racing Rules of Sailing, as amended by the United States Sailing prescriptions and incorporating Appendix E-Radio Controlled Boat Racing Rules, the current AMYA RC Laser Class Rules and further sailing instructions mandated by the PRO during the course of the sailing day by announcing the changes.

ENTRIES: There is no pre-registration for the RC Laser Regatta. Pay $18 and fill out entry form on the day of the regatta.

ELIGIBILITY: AMYA membership is required. http://www.theamya.org/join/

FOOD AND DRINK: Sandwiches and beverages will be provided.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Wednesday, September 9th, 2015
9:30 am Skippers meeting.
10:00 am Racing begins.
12:00 pm Lunch Break.
3:15 pm No race to begin after 3:15pm. Prizes to follow immediately after last race is calculated.

FORMAT: Fleet Racing if under 15 boats; Odds/Evens if over 15 boats.

ENTRY FEE: $18. No pre-registration required but you must notify Dave Branning of your intention to race this regatta.

SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A.

PRIZES: Skippers will be competing for the Jim Karr Trophy
