2019 RC LASER NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP
May 25, 2019
Rules: The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of World Sailing, AMYA class rules for the RC Laser and Star 45 respectively, and further Sailing Instructions as announced by the Race Director during the course of event.
Eligibility: The regatta is open to all owners of RC Lasers, and AMYA members with Star 45 class boats. Follow this link to join AMYA: http://www.theamya.org/join/
Location: Barker House at Edenton Harbor, 505 S. Broad Street, Edenton, North Carolina
Competitors may enter either or both RC Laser and/or Star 45 classes.

Scoring: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. For each 7 races are sailed, a boat’s worst score will be excluded. For every increment of 7 additional races sailed, one additional worst score will be excluded from her overall score. Ties will be broken according to Appendix A section 8.1 and 8.2.
Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the top five boats in each class (if Gold & Silver fleets, top 3 in each fleet). A special award will be made to the skipper with best combined score in both classes.
What to bring: A launching stick for RC Lasers and a launcher for Star 45s. A folding chair.
Lodging near the regatta site: There is a Hampton Inn in Edenton and there are hotels in Elizabeth City 30 minutes north and Williamston 30 minutes south. There are several B&Bs within walking distance of the harbor, and other houses or rooms may be found on AirBNB. It will be almost impossible to find a room on short notice, so BOOK A ROOM EARLY – do it now.
