Rob Seidelmann Wins The 2011 Leftover Bowl

The 2011 Leftover Bowl was held on November 26th in beautiful weather and light air on Cooper River in Collingswood, NJ.

PRO, Jim Greenfield and his able assistant, Star Class multi-champion, John MacCausland, kept the odds and evens format on pace in the light and shifting SW breezes. Sixteen competitors were able to enjoy the balmy day and the fine hosting of the West Jersey RC Laser Fleet.

We sailed 7 races, 16 heats, in a windward leeward course with a gate for the leeward marks. This kept the mark roundings clean and gave the comptitors a choice in the light breeze.

Rob Seidelmann won the day by two points over Class Secretary, Dave Branning and AMYA President, Dave Brawner, who tied Branning on points. Brawner recently won his second EC12 National Championship last month. Fourth place went to Skip Lippincott of the host fleet and fifth to Roger Vaughan form Oxford, MD. In all 8 skippers won at least one heat and five skippers won two or more races in this highly competitive series.

Thanks to the West Jersey RC Laser Fleet for hosting this annual event that has become a fixture on the RC Laser calendar.
