2015 RC Laser Class-and-Star 45 Class AMYA Region 3 Championship

HOST: St. James Plantation Model Yacht Club. Organized by Triangle Model Yacht Club.

RULES: The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of US Sailing, AMYA class rules of the RC Laser Class and Star 45 Class respectively, and further Sailing Instructions as announced by the Race Director during the course of event by posting and/or announcing changes.

ELIGIBILITY: The regatta is open to members of the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA) with RC Lasers and/or Star 45 class boats conforming to their current respective class rules. To join AMYA: http://www.theamya.org/join/

Competitors may enter either or both RC Laser and Star 45 classes.

FOOD AND DRINK: Entry fee includes lunch, sodas and water. The evening dinner is not included in  the entry fee. Entries must be received by June 12 to guarantee lunch.

Saturday, June 20, 2015: RC Lasers
8:30 am   Check-in, practice sailing at SeaSide Pond
9:30 am   Skippers Meeting. Racing begins following group photo
12:00 pm  Lunch break–catered. Included in fee
4:00 pm   Final race of the day starts no later than 4pm

Awards presentation to follow as soon as final scores are tabulated

6:30 pm  Dinner-both classes–at local club. On your own

Sunday, June 21, 2015: Star 45s
8:30 am  Check-in, practice sailing at SeaSide Pond
9:30 am  Skippers Meeting. Racing begins following group photo
12:00 pm  Lunch break–catered. Included in fee
4:00 pm  Final race of the day starts no later than 4pm

Awards presentation to follow as soon as final scores are tabulated

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee will be $20.00 for each regatta.

SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. For each 7 races are sailed, a boat’s worst score will be excluded. For every increment of 7 additional races sailed, one  additional worst score will be excluded from her overall score. Ties will be broken according to Appendix A section 8.1 and 8.2.

PRIZES: Trophies will be awarded to the top three skippers in each class. A special award will be made to the skipper with the lowest combined score in both classes.
