2022 RC Laser North American Championships

RULES: This event will be governed by any Federal or State COVID-19 orders, The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2021-2024, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of US Sailing, the RC Laser class rules, the RC Laser NA Sailing Instructions, and further instructions as announced by the PRO/Race Committee during the event. Changes to the racing rules or class rules are noted in the specific instructions where they apply.
ELIGIBILITY: The regatta is open to all RC Laser Class boats only. Membership in the AMYA and the RC Laser class is strongly recommended.

LOCATION: Racing will be held at the Raritan Yacht Club, 160 Water Street, Perth Amboy, NJ
ENTRY: Eligible boats and skippers may be entered by completing the online registration entry form and submitting it prior to October 29th, 2022. Regatta will be limited to 30 boats. Entry fee of $85 (payable via on-line registration) includes two lunches, dinner, skippers’ gift, and awards. Extra Lunches at $14 each, extra dinner $30.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing instructions are available on the RC Laser Fleet page on the Raritan Yacht Club website at: http://www.ryc.org/Default.aspx?p=dynamicmodule&pageid=90&ssid=100117&vnf=1
RACING FORMAT/SCORING: The overall fleet will be split into Gold and Silver fleets using 6 seeding race scores of which a boats best 5 finishes will count towards the boats seeding score. All 6 seeding race scores will be used in the calculations of a boat’s overall regatta score. The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. A boat’s worst score will be excluded at the completion of race 7, and subsequently race 14 and 21 for a possible 3 scores being excluded.
AWARDS: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers for each fleet.
MEASUREMENTS & EQUIPMENT: A boat and her equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with class rules and sailing instructions.
