RULES: This event will be governed by any Federal or State COVID-19 orders, The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2021-2024, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of US Sailing, the RC Laser class rules, the ST. Patrick’s Day RC Laser Sailing Instructions, and further instructions as announced by the PRO/Race Committee during the event. Changes to the racing rules or class rules are noted in the specific instructions where they apply.
ELIGIBILITY: The regatta is open to all RC Laser Class boats only.
SCHEDULE:
8:30AM | Registration, Boat Inspection |
9:30AM | Skipper’s Meeting |
10:00AM | Racing Begins (Depending on number of participants, Seeding Races, then Gold and Silver) |
Mid-Day | Lunch Break Racing continues |
4:00PM | Racing complete. No race will start Results will follow as soon as final scores are tabulated |
LOCATION: Racing will be held at the Raritan Yacht Club, 160 Water Street, Perth Amboy, NJ
ENTRY: Eligible boats and skippers may be entered by completing the online registration entry form and submitting it prior to March 12, 2022. Regatta will be limited to 30 boats. Entry fee of $24 (payable via on-line registration) includes lunch and awards. Extra Lunches at $14 each.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing instructions are available on the RC Laser Fleet page on the Raritan Yacht Club website at: http://www.ryc.org/Default.aspx?p=dynamicmodule&pageid=90&ssid=100117&vnf=1
SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. A boat’s worst score will be excluded for the day (1 throw out) if a minimum of 5 races are completed. Skippers who have won three or more first place silver fleet awards shall be moved to the bottom of the Gold Fleet if they fail to qualify for the gold fleet. The skipper will keep all the points earned in the seeding races. The last place skipper in the Gold Fleet will have the option to stay in the gold fleet or move to the top of the Silver Fleet.
AWARDS: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers for each fleet.
MEASUREMENTS & EQUIPMENT: A boat and her equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with class rules and sailing instructions.
