2025 CT RC Laser State Championship Regatta

ELIGIBILITY: The regatta is open to all RC Laser owners.

ENTRIES: 30 boat maximum. Skippers can enter the regatta by completing the On-line Entry Form available via theAMYA.org, Regatta Page: https://www.theamya.org/RegattaDetail.asp?RGID=10578

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee will be $25.00. Lunch, Skippers Gift and Awards are included.

SCHEDULE: Sunday March 30, 2025
9:00 AM Registration Opens
9:30 AM Skippers meeting
10:00 AM Racing begins
Mid-day Lunch Break (lunch and beverages will be provided)
3:00 PM No race will begin after 3:00 PM. Prizes to follow
There is no rain date. If necessary, the Connecticut State Champion may be crowned by successive rounds of the board game “Regatta”!

FORMAT: Will be announced at the event depending on the number of boats. (options include single fleet, two fleets (such as Gold/Silver), two-out-of-three, etc.)

COURSE(S): Courses will be set, based on the prevailing conditions, and announced prior to the start of each race. All marks will be touchable except the starting marks and the finishing marks. A windward offset may be used. A leeward gate may be used. Incidental contact (as determined by Race Director) will not be considered a foul unless the ROW boat was substantially impeded.

RULES: The regatta will be governed by the 2025-2028 Racing Rules of Sailing as modified by Appendix E, the sailing instructions, the AMYA RC Laser Class rules and by local conditions as necessary. Entrants are expected to know and abide by the Racing Rules of Sailing.

CONDUCT: Model yachting is intended to be fun and entertaining for entrants, other competitors, the race committee and any observers. Any behavior not consistent with the Corinthian spirit and tradition of yachting may, at the discretion of the Race Director, result in one or more penalties ranging from a “dock 360” to “payment into a cuss money jar” (bring singles with you!) to points added to their race score to disqualification and possible other options in between.

SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. There will be one throw out race for every four races completed. Ties will be broken by number of wins, number of seconds, etc.

PRIZES: Trophies for positions 1-3. Additional trophies possible depending based on number of entries.
