NOTICE OF RACE

2017 AMYA RC LASER REGION 3 CHAMPIONSHIP

The Endless Summer Regatta

Rules: The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, rules of the AMYA RC Laser Class, and these Sailing Instructions or modifications as announced by the Race Director during the course of event.

Eligibility: The regatta is open to members of the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA) with RC Laser boats conforming to class rules. To join AMYA: http://www.theamya.org/join/ To be eligible for competition, a skipper must complete registration as described in this Notice of Race.

Location: Cartop boat launch area, Lake Crabtree County Park near RDU Airport, Raleigh, NC

Schedule:

Scoring: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. For each 7 races are sailed, a boat’s worst score will be excluded. For every increment of 7 additional races sailed, one additional worst score will be excluded from her overall score. Ties will be broken according to Appendix A section 8.1 and 8.2.

Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

Lodging: Contact Rick Ferguson [starboard@whither-bound.com] for hotel recommendations. There is a range of hotels within a short distance of the regatta site.

Measurement: Equipment is subject to spot checks for compliance with class rules. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that his boat is in compliance when he arrives.
