2023 Cold Turkey Region 2 Championship Regatta

RULES: This event will be governed by any Federal or State orders, The Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of US Sailing, class rules of the RC Laser class, these sailing instructions, and any amendments to these Sailing Instructions as announced by the PRO/Race Committee during the event. Changes to the racing rules or class rules are noted in the specific instructions where they apply.
ELIGIBILITY: All entrants must be AMYA members in good standing and have registered their boats with the RC Laser class association. AMYA membership can be obtained at https://www.theamya.org, boats may be registered at https://rclaser.org. This is a one design RC Laser class regatta – only RC Laser boats can participate. The event is limited to 30 boats
ENTRY & FEES: Eligible boats and skippers may be entered by completing the online registration entry form and submitting it prior to November 20 24, 2023 (Deadline extended). Regatta will be limited to 30 boats. Entry fee of $26 (payable via AMYA on-line registration) includes lunch and trophies for Gold and Silver Fleets. Extra Lunches at $14 each
REGISTRATION: Registration for this regatta can be found on the AMYA website at https://www.theamya.org, click Regattas then Schedule. Select “2023 Cold Turkey Region 2 Championship Regatta”, click the Register button.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing instructions will be made available no later than the day of the regatta.
SCHEDULE:
| 8:30AM | Registration & Boat Inspection |
| 9:30AM | Skipper’s Meeting |
| 10:00AM | Racing Begins (Depending on number of participants, Grouped Heat Racing may apply) |
| Mid-Day | Lunch Break Racing continues |
| 4:00PM | Racing complete. No heat will start after 4:00pm. Results will follow as soon as final scores are tabulated |
LOCATION: Racing will be held at the Raritan Yacht Club, 160 Water Street, Perth Amboy NJ 08861.
SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. A boat’s worst score will be excluded for the day (1 throw out) if a minimum of 5 races are completed.
PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the top placing skippers.
MEASUREMENTS & EQUIPMENT: A boat and her equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with class rules and sailing instructions.
