1. RULES AND GOVERNANCE:
1.1. The event will be governed by the current edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) as changed by Appendix E, and the current applicable Heat Management System (HMS). 1.2. No US Sailing Prescriptions apply except Appendix R and prescriptions to rules 60.3, 61.4, 67, 70.5(a), 76.1.
2. CHANGE TO RULE:
2.1. 90.3(e) Replace “24 hours” with “5 minutes”.
3. EQUIPMENT INSPECTION:
3.1. At the discretion of the PRO, checks of randomly selected boats may be conducted during the event to confirm that they comply with class rules.
4. RISK STATEMENT:
RRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.” Sailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore involves an element of risk. By taking part in any of the events covered by this NOR, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that:
4.1. They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event whether afloat or ashore.
4.2. They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions.
4.3. Their boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate.
4.4. The provision of a race management team, patrol boats, umpires and other officials and volunteers by the organizer does not relieve them of their own responsibilities.
4.5. The provision of rescue boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances
5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:
Each competitor shall provide proof of current AMYA or their National Authority membership
6. REGISTRATION AND FEES:
6.1. The event fee per boat is $25 and $10/guest.
6.2. Entry form and fees must be submitted no later than September 22nd. There is no refund after this date. The fee includes lunches & beverages, trophies, etc. https://www.theamya.org/RegattaDetail.asp?RGID=10407

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
8.1. The Sailing Instructions are available at https://theamya.org/FindaRegatta.asp
9. SCORING AND RACING SYSTEM:
9.1. The Regatta shall be raced and scored under the current Heat Management System (HMS).
9.2. Five races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
9.3. Boats finishing in an incorrect heat will not be allowed to sail in their assigned heat for that race and will be scored DNS for their correct heat.
10. FOOD:
10.1. Lunch and beverages will be served
11. AWARDS:
11.1. Awards will be made to the top three finishing positions.
12.CONDUCT:
12.1. The PRO has been directed to record any incidents, which will be dealt with to the full extent available. Penalties available include exclusion from the race in question or subsequent races, exclusion from the regatta, or other action within the Protest Committee’s authority.
13. RIGHTS to APPEAL:
13.1. Denial of the right of appeal, subject to rule 70.
14.DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY:
Those taking part in this regatta do so at their own risk. TMYC Triangle Model Yacht Club, regatta staff & race officers, and/or any other parties involved in the organization of this event refuse all responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water because of entering or participating in the event covered by the official Notice of Race. At all times, the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decision to participate or continue shall rest with the competitors and participants. On submitting entry form, the competitor representing his/her NCA agrees to be bound by these conditions, the Racing Rules of Sailing and by all rules that govern this event.
