Ft. Stoakes Cannonball River Race, October 12th

This race is now closed with a limit of 15 competitors riding in a launch or rib or dinghy with a driver. We start at the headwaters of the Tred Avon River and head downriver to a government mark about 1.5 miles away and return. The return part is the best. We then have a crab feast party with lots of special events as part of the post race activities. There is more on this race on this page further below. Others should try this as a change of pace. The gang at Canandaguia, NY does this as well as the Vancouver, BC fleet in Canada.

The AMYA RC Laser National Championship, October 26-27

The entry list for the first annual RC Laser Nationals is now “over subscribed”, with 32 skippers listed below. Thre will be two fleets after seeding races so lots of prizes and special awards for all competitors. Any regatta at Tred Avon YC is first class with a great racing venue and perfect hosting conditions. Dave Brawner, President of AMYA, and Ken Shaw, form an experienced  RC team so we know it will be a well run championship. Even if you cannot race, come on out and enjoy the event. Steve Lang and his Sail RC team will be there as well as Jon Elmaleh, the owner of Out There Technologies, if you want to discuss anthing about the boat, it’s great one design aspects and RC Laser Class activities.
