It’s regatta time! Pack up your RC laser and hit the road! Starting this weekend and all the way to Thanksgiving weekend there’s RC Laser regattas. This weekend it’s the the Lake Naomi RC Laser Summer Regatta. The Poconos is beautiful this time of year.
A new addition to our schedule is the 1st Annual Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May RC Laser Regatta that takes place on September 19th. Region 2 Director Dave Branning, working with Jim Forrester of CYCCM, put together the clubs first RC Laser regatta. It’s a new RC Laser fleet, so let’s give them some support and sail at one of my favorite yacht clubs on the Jersey Shore. See the NOR in our listing for more information.
Registrations for the RC Laser National Championship Regatta have started to come in. This is where it all started. This is the home club of Laser designer Bruce Kirby. He also sailed his RC Laser with the Noroton Fleet. Regatta host Greg Smith is looking forward to seeing RC Laser sailors come out and sail to honor fleet member Bruce Kirby who recently passed.
In honor of Bruce the RC Laser Class will add two additional awards for this regatta. They will be given to the winners of the first Gold and Silver races.

Bruce Kirby, best known as the designer of the Laser, now known as the ILCA, has passed away at the age of 92yrs.
