Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the RC Laser Class
I hope all our RC Laser Sailors around the world have weathered the pandemic and are well and safe. It has been a tough year for everyone. As you know we have had to cancel some regattas along the way for the safety of our competitors. Some fleets still got to sail with all of them practicing safe distancing and wearing mask. It won’t be long before we can all get back doing what we love most… Sailing our RC Laser.
Our 2020 NCR was cancelled but a determined regatta host Ray Seta was able to move the date to January 22-24 at the same venue. It will be the first time the RC Laser NCR will be held in region 5. You can get all the information at the Coastal Bend MYC web site. The Champion of Nations regatta was cancelled early. It was very disappointing. Regatta host Mary Lee and Rocky Cale had their usual first-class regatta planned. We also had to cancel the 2021 RC Laser Mid-Winters. With so many venues to make arrangements for, this first-class regatta and skippers traveling great distances, it was not possible to put on this great regatta. In addition to all the COVID-19 rules changing day to day. Rocky and Mary Lee will be set for the 2022 Mid-Winters.
We have an abbreviated Southern Circuit for 2021. The clubs are the same with just one date change.
February 20 The Villages
February 21 South East FL
February 25 Punta Gorda
Thank you to all the skippers, fleet captains, and regatta hosts who give their time so we can sail our RC Lasers. Thank you to our RC Laser Distributor Jim Myers for his support of our class.
From Beth and I, and Jim Flach we wish you all a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a much better New Year than the last.
