Wickford RI Mudheads Season Results
The Wickford RI Mudheads RC Laser Fleet completed another successful competitive one design racing season. The Fleet was the brain child of well known big boat and Etchells sailor Bryson Hall who was intrigued by the class in the Caribbean 4 years ago. Bringing the concept to good friend and former Etchells sailor Paul Sollitto the Wickford Mudheads were born.
Not satisfied with the limitation of sailing off Bryson’s dock in Wickford cove our founders purchased an old pontoon boat and retrofitted it to accommodate 15 RC Laser racers with gear. This craft insures a perfect perspective of the race course. The reliable Narragansett Bay south westerly does the rest.
The fleet is composed of big boat, former Etchells, current VX One, and Americas Cup sailors.
The seasons final regatta and awards presentation was topped off with a great seafood cookout hosted by Cindy and Bryson Hall.
Congratulations to Jim Myers our local fleet technical expert and RC Laser importer and dealer from INTENSITY SAILS on winning a most competitive summer series composed of 117 races.
