2021 Lake Naomi Summer Regatta

Lake Naomi RC Laser fleet has a new fleet Captain, John Sadowski. John is taking over from John Whipple who has supported the RC Laser class first as a Fleet Captain but also chairing to major RC Laser regattas. The 2010 RC Laser North Americans and the 2017 RC Laser National Championship regatta. Both were fun regattas with great sailing. When winter freezes Lake Naomi, John moves the sailing indoors to the community pool. The wind is created by using ten commercial fans that create a more than enough breeze to have sailing on the pool. Thank you, John, for your support and friendship!

On Saturday August 7 the RC Laser Feet held their Annual Summer Regatta on Lake Naomi. It was a gray cloudy morning with light rain with participants hoping for some good sailing wind. Instead, it was a morning of light and shifty waifs that seemed consistently veer 180 degrees. Three skippers answered the starting horn, Dean Nealy, Tony Seay, and Jack Sadowski. Racing was slow and unpredictable, but the competition was keen and very close in the ten races sailed. At the end of the day, it was Tony Seay besting Dean Nealy by just four points, winning the first-place award.

Special Thanks to Sue Nealy and Lorraine Sadowski for providing snacks and drinks. Also, thanks to Sue and Ellen Collins for race committee and scoring duties.
