While sailing in Connecticut in mid-August I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Myers of Intensity Sails. Jim has been sailing his RC Laser with a group in RI and Connecticut and decided to gather up the New England gang an anyone else who wants to participate in a one day RC Laser Invitational in Watch Hill, RI. Invitational means the first 15 who register are invited. If you only have a B sail, that’s good because a few of the new folks up there have B’s and some C sails. Maybe the Maine gang and the Woods Hole gang and the Mud Heads from Wickford will all come together for this one. Or just maybe… Hank Buchanan from NYC or Jon Elmaleh from Brooklyn will slide up Route 95 to join this one. Good luck to all and fair winds.

HOST: Watch Hill Yacht Club

RULES: The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, as amended by Appendix E for RC sailing, prescriptions of US Sailing, class rules of the RC Laser Class of North America and further Sailing Instructions as announced by the Race Director during the course of event.

ELIGIBILITY: Fleet size: 15. The regatta is open to anyone with an RC Laser, and you are encouraged to be a member of AMYA or the RC Laser Class of NA. First come, first serve! There will be a waiting list if more than 15 attempt to register.

FORMAT: A maximum of 15 boats will be registered.
Sailors may use Laser class B and C sails only

SCORING: The event will be scored under the Low Point System described in the Racing Rules of Sailing Appendix A. For each 5 races are sailed, a boat’s worst score will be excluded.

PRIZES: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 skippers.
You may wish to bring: Folding chair, food and drink for the barge
