2021 St. Patrick’s Oktoberfest Regatta
RYC Annual St. Patrick’s Day Regatta – March 13th, 2021
This year 14 sailors got to experience a beautiful, bright sunny day to complete in the RYC annual St. Pats regatta. The day started with some shifty NW winds in the 5-10 range. The ebbing current built throughout the day and proved be challenging. The morning session saw a mix of A and B sails with both proving to be right at times. At the lunch break after race 6 the Scalisi brothers were tied with 23 points closely followed by Jim Flach. With a shift to the left and building breeze the afternoon conditions were more consistent. The afternoon session saw the whole fleet using B rigs on nice long 2 lap courses. Seven more races were completed for a total of 13. The afternoon was dominated by Jim Flach winning 4 of the last 7 races for the overall win by 9 points over Frank Scalisi, second (41), followed by Eric Leitner, third (48).
